Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the tour price?

With a custom tour package, you tell us what you would like included.   With our Pre set featured tours we include all of the following, unless otherwise indicated: international airfare from a gateway airport (not included in our land only packages), Airport Meet and Greets:, Airport to Hotel Transfers, English Speaking Tour Escorts and Guides, Sightseeing excursions as listed on the itinerary with all admission fees, ground transportation, meals as indicated, tips to tour guides and baggage handlers, hotel and land taxes and a travel gift pack.

Will I need a passport and visa?

A valid passport is required of all tour participants traveling internationally. U.S citizens apply for passports at local passport offices, designated federal or state clerks office and selected post offices. A U.S. passport is valid for 10 years (five years for children).

In addition, visas are required for certain foreign countries. If a visa is required on one of our featured tours, we will include the visa fee in the tour package price and assist you in the visa application process.

How long do tours last?

Most of our feature tours range between 7 and 12 days but if you are planning a tour for your own private group we would be happy to adjust the length of any tour to better suit your needs.

What types of accommodations are provided?

For our pre-arranged Featured Tours, we will use 3 or 4 star hotels. The hotel standard for each tour is stated on the tour itinerary.  If we are creating a custom tour for your group, we will include the accommodation standard of your choice.  Whether you are looking for a youth hostel or a five star hotel, well work with you to meet your requirements.

How many persons to a room?

We price our tours based on double occupancy unless otherwise indicated.

Can I upgrade to a single room?

Single supplements are typically available. Single supplement price varies with each tour. Check for the single supplement price in your tour information or give us a call for a quote.

Are family members welcome to come along on student tours?

With any of our Featured tours we encourage family members to come along and share the experience with their child.  Nobody under the age of 13 can travel without an adult family member also traveling.  On custom tours designed for school groups and sports teams the Group Leader, who requested the tour, may set their own rules regarding family members participation on a tour.

Are these student tours suitable for children and senior citizens?

Each tour is different. We don't forbid young children, if accompanied by an adult, or senior citizens from traveling with any of our featured tours but some activities may not be suitable for them.  Some tours require a lot of walking and a level strenuous exercise. It is quite common for grand parents, aunts and uncles to travel with students.  Just give us a call and we would be glad to discuss any specific itinerary with you in order make a proper determination.

Are tours suitable for single travelers?

Our escorted tours offer instant camaraderie. Group sightseeing and evening social gatherings make it easy for single guests to meet and mingle with fellow passengers. Traveling with a group, you'll be assured of traveling in a safe, secure and worry-free environment.

What about travelers who need special assistance?

Any disability requiring special attention should be reported to My Greatest Journeys prior to making a reservation. We will contact our tours suppliers to ask whether they are able to accommodate those specific needs. My Greatest Journeys is not responsible in the event that our tour suppliers are unable to accommodate any special needs, nor are we responsible for any denial of service by carriers, hotels, restaurants or other independent suppliers.

What must I do to hold a spot on a tour?

To hold space on a tour a non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit is $150 for land only tours and $300 for tours that include air and land.  Deposits apply toward your tour payment.

Must I pay in full or do you offer a payment plan?

We do offer a payment plan.  Tour payments are due 90, 60 and 45 days prior to departure. See our Terms and Conditions for complete details.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept checks or money orders payable to World Sports Alliance or My Greatest Journeys as well as Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.  Personal checks are not accepted with less than 30 days to departure.

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

We do give tour refunds but the amount of the refund will be determined by the date your refund request is received. The closer to departure that you cancel, the greater is your penalty.  For details on our cancellation policy read our Terms and Conditions.
